And Who am I?

Live. Love. Bake.

Those three little words pretty much sum up my priorities in life.

I’m a 3rd year university  Vietnam-born, German-raised, bone-deep Torontonian who has finally decided to live towards fulfilling her dream.  Let me present myself to you as an utter fool in love with three particular British folk:  Gordon Ramsey, Jamie Oliver and Nigella Lawson. I’m an aspiring wannabe Journalist as well as a hardcore Starbucks barista, neither one of which gives me much pleasure and happiness in the overall scheme in things. But if I had the money, hunny…

…I would most definitely open up my own cozy little cafe/bakery. And therefore let me present you with Chocolate Fool, my very own food blog which will keep a record of my culinary adventures and disasters in my kitchen. Because one day, when my life is somewhat in order, I dream of embarking on an adventure of a lifetime. An adventure that will result in opening a cafe, baking and selling happiness. Until then, this blog will serve to hold together these dreams until it’s time.

Please visit often and I hope you’ll enjoy your stay!

Bon appetit!

Chi, you’re so cute for starting this.
Makes me nostalgic. Reminds me of our little chats in The Eyeopener office about how we can get optimal sweetness with minimum calorie count, LOL.
I stopped worrying about that a while ago. Now, I just eat. Ironic considering that I work at a gym now 😛

    This blog is gorgeous. Congrats.

I love Nigella Lawson’s Orange Chocolate Cake — it’s fun boiling an orange for an hour. The entire house smells like citrus. Lately I bake that cake and do a cardamom dark chocolate glaze on it. Yum!

It would be great if you tagged stuff ‘gluten free’ when relevant in your blog, as gluten does my gut in.

Keep up the gorgeous, delicious blogging. And good luck with your cafe dream!

BTW – I blog at ‘Moon over Martinborough’ here: http://martinborough.wordpress.com/

I really like your blog! Live, love, bake is pretty much my motto as well.

I love your dream of having your own bakery/cafe someday. In my wildest dreams, I will own my own little bakery, too. I’m beginning to work on that dream (after a couple of decades doing editorial work for a publisher in Michigan, I’m now in culinary school). Meaningful second careers, and these sorts of dreams, are what it’s all about. So keep on baking . . .

    : )

Do you create your own recipes or do you make stuff you find online, in books, etc.? Both?
Just curious. I share a love of baking as well and I, too, want my own little bakery someday!
I’d like to try and create my own recipes, but don’t know enough about proportions of ingredients and such.
Oh, and I love your photos!

Chi, I’ve been meaning to send you this message for a long time: this is a beautiful blog! I tried your carrot cake muffins and they worked out great, especially with the pineapple. Your blog is really well done! And I agree with carla, your pics are gorgeous!

I just started a little baking blog of my own: http://bakingbynight.wordpress.com/

Look forward to more of your recipes!

    Hello!
I just found your blog by searching for chocolate fool recipes on google, and I have to say it’s brilliant!

I love baking myself, but I’m not so good at it :S Your recipes however are really easy to follow and all so appetising and well explained! You’ve actually made my day, I feel motivated again about the idea of baking, I’m going to try some of your recipes tomorrow 🙂 Thank you for sharing all this with us!
